World Forestry Center

Located in a highly corrosive humid environment, the canopy structure covers the 'Peggy' a 42 ton old-style Lima Shay geared, steam locomotive and railcar of logs at the World Forestry Center. The canopy was fabricated in one piece and due to its size required highly skilled progressive dipping in the molten zinc bath at the galvanizer's plant. Always planned to be painted, the galvanized canopy steel was incredibly smooth and well-suited for the job
