Originally, the specification for this project called for a three-coat paint system with an alternate for galvanizing; however, once the galvanizer presented a life-cycle savings model versus a paint system, the owner and architect were quick to recognize the savings that galvanizing could. As this structure was erected during the cold winter months, the galvanizing process prevented delays that typically rise from inclement weather.
