In 2004, the University of Cincinnati hot-dip galvanized fencing and grandstand structural steel for its soccer stadium. Following the success of that project, the university constructed a new scoreboard for the 2005 college football season.
All structural steel and supportive members of the scoreboard were hot-dip galvanized and erected in time for the season opener. The owner specified galvanized steel for its visual appearance and quick turnaround time. The University of Cincinnati was so satisfied with the outcome, they decided to recommend hot-dip galvanized steel on some future projects. The cooperation among galvanizer, architect, and owner helped to ensure the scoreboard was aesthetically appealing, while being completed on-time, and saving the university costly maintenance fees in the future.
