Sculptor François Guillemin was approached by Princeton Healthcare Foundation to see if he would be interested in proposing a sculpture project for the new hospitals Wellness Garden.
A nationally exhibited sculptor, he is known as "le Corbeau" and owns and operates Firedance Studio, LLC, a metal working facility in Hopewell, NJ that was well suited to take on the task of design, fabrication, and installation of the new sculpture.
As maintenance issues are always of concern to both artist and the owners of sculpture, le Corbeau wanted to provide a virtually maintenance free project, and so after considering several paint systems, he suggested a galvanized surface coating, and the project was approved.

The C-6 channel trunk and branches (five uprights with right angles) would carry a canopy of three ¼ thick panels of up to 4 x 8 with water-jet cut details, set on a 3/4 x 36 OD baseplate. The galvanizer's tanks accommodated the large panels as well as the quality galvanizing needed for the sculpture.
