Admired on a daily basis, The Sea of the Ear-Rings sculpture stands proudly outside the front door of Northeast Floridas largest art museum. This creation was artfully sculpted by Japanese-American artist Takashi Soga. A shining red duplex system was used in order to protect the rings from the highly-corrosive environment of Florida. Galvanizing was the perfect antidote for high humidity, high ultra-violet rays, wind, sand, coastal salt and fog. The rings have an exceptionally smooth finish that exceeded the artists expectations. These smooth rings are moved up and down slowly by the wind and a counter weight. This feature creates the illusion of a free floating top ring.
Galvanizing was the perfect antidote...
Takashi Soga has galvanized projects in the past and continues to be extremely pleased with the results. Thanks to the protection of hot-dip galvanizing, this sculpture will continue to please art admires for decades to come.
