Clarence Oliver Middle School is located in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma. The school was erected without handicap accessibility, so a ramp was needed to meet state regulations. All of the structure would be used in an outdoor application with the challenges of weather conditions which could speed the rate of erosion of the steel. Rooks Fabrication was hired to erect the ramp, the overhead awning and the railing for both ramp and entry stairs. Because both Rooks Fabrication and Broken Arrow School District were highly educated of the benefits of galvanizing, the decision to use painting over galvanizing was based on sustainability, durability and low-cost.
