Hot-dip galvanizing was selected because of the maintenance free characteristics of the hot-dip galvanized coating system. This project was built for community use where no maintenance is available and must stand up to a hot and humit environment. This is the 11th consecutive year a hot-dip galvanized small outdoor classroom type structure has been designed, fabricated and erected by Graduate Architecture students at the University of Houston College of Architecture. These future Architects learn first-hand the advantages of using hot-dip galvanized steel in projects they will one day design for their clients.
