Skikda New LNG Train Project

The train project is the first hydraulic elevator that lifts a 100 foot, 50 ton flare system. The durability of the coating allowed the fabricator to ship and load without having to compromise its corrosion protection, unlike the special handling requirements needed for paint. The equipment is located in a coastal environment, where it will be impossible to repaint once it is in service.

Due to the application and location of the project, galvanizing was a better fit aesthetically and cost-wise for the long-term sustainability of protection from both heat from flare and from the coastal conditions. Fifty percent of the project was hot-dip galvanized.
