In the world of boardwalk attractions, where old and new come together to shape the landscape of the summer season, there is a special place reserved for water parks. These aquatic wonderlands leave a mark on the memories of both children and adults. One of the most cherished attractions a boardwalk can offer is a water park, and the newest addition, a 5,000 square-foot spray park situated on the boardwalk between Seaside Heights and Seaside Park, is no exception.
The challenges posed by the ocean's salty waters and sea mist were no match for the robust durability that galvanizing provided.
The park boasts an array of amusement, including slides, a Mega Dump Bucket, Fun Bus, cascading water flowers, and water slides. Yet, amidst the laughter and excitement, the owners of this project were focused on something equally significant – the preservation of their investment. Located in close proximity to the salty waters and sea mist, the exterior steel structures of the water park demanded a protective coating of exceptional durability.
After considering other options, there was only one choice that could provide the level of protection required to withstand the corrosive forces of the Atlantic Ocean. The answer was hot-dip galvanizing.
This coating protection system offers a safeguard to the steel components and will preserve for many years to come. The challenges posed by the ocean's salty waters and sea mist were no match for the robust durability that galvanizing provided. Unlike conventional paint coatings, hot-dip galvanizing offered a level of longevity that would stand the test of time while other paint methods would simple flake or allow the steel to corrode and deteriorate.
The grand opening of the water park was a day to remember, attended by the Borough Mayor, John Peterson, and several council members. His words resonated with the community's spirit of rejuvenation and rebuilding after Superstorm Sandy in 2012 and the Jersey Shore Boardwalk Fire in 2013. Families enjoyed the slides and splashes, unaware that beneath the fun, hot-dip galvanized steel was diligently working to protect and preserve the Sea Spray Park for the enjoyment of future generations.
From start to finish, the galvanizer was able to provide the customer unwavering support, expertise and a quality product that would be enjoyed by the Jersey Shore community for generations to come. It stands as a celebration of the durability, sustainability and resilience that galvanizing continues to offer, ensuring that summer fun remains a tradition for years to come.
