Seacrets Jamaica USA is the “go to” location in Ocean City, MD. The waterfront restaurant allows patrons to experience the sunshine while dangling their feet in the water and enjoying their food and drink. At night, there is an even more festive vibe as the restaurant doubles as a bar and nightclub. While beach-goers have enjoyed the drinks, the harsh, salty environment has corroded the bar stools and table stands because the existing powder coating was not doing the job of corrosion protection.

At the completion of each successful season, the maintenance crew of Seacrets began the tedious and laborious chore of cleaning, sanding, and refurbishing the powder-coated surface of the bar stools and tables. After countless seasons of restoring the powder coating, Seacrets decided to give hot-dip galvanizing a shot. Ultimately, the galvanizer was asked to hot-dip galvanize almost 200 various stools fabricated from rebar for the 2018 summer season. 

Once the 2018 summer came to a close, it was time to evaluate the success of the galvanized coating’s protection. The results were better than anticipated...the coating reacted exceptionally well, with little or no clean up needed at the end of the season. Instead of spending refurbishment labor, Seacrets was able to simply store the stools for the following year. That had never been the case in the past.
