The new Leaderboard and Video Screen at Richmond International Raceway is a sight to be seen. The entire structure stands 153 feet tall and features four enormous LED video screens at the peak, making it the tallest and most spectacular leaderboard in motorsports. The four-sided design provides stunning live race action to all of the fans around the racetrack.
Experience and familiarity with hot-dip galvanizing made it the coating of choice for long-lasting, maintenance-free protection.
The leaderboards below each of the screens provide real-time running order, lap times, point standings and other scoring functions during races. The owner selected hot-dip galvanizing because of its ability to withstand damage during transportation and assembly. Previous experience and familiarity with hot-dip galvanizing made it the coating of choice for long lasting, maintenance-free protection of the towers steel.
The entire project needed to be fabricated, galvanized, elevated, and have all electronic components working before the first Richmond NASCAR event in April, making galvanizing the perfect choice due to its quick coating process. The silver-gray color of the galvanized coating provides an eye pleasing contrast to the video screens and blends in with the existing galvanized bleachers. Because it utilizes hot-dip galvanized steel, this fantastic leaderboard will remain standing for many decades of speedway fans.
