Gracing the public plaza of Quarry Properties, this fish shaped sculpture welcomes visitors from the surrounding residential housing complex. This 1,200 pound sculpture was hot-dip galvanized (HDG) in order to ensure a great visual appearance as well as great corrosion protection.
This work of art will continue to illuminate the plaza for decades.
Having previous experience in HDG, the artist was familiar with the various finishes possible. He chose to treat the galvanized surface with a vinegar based solution to give the sculpture a more aged and natural looking finish. The sculpture rests in the center of the property over a fountain. Even in the constant exposure to water, this work of art will continue to illuminate the plaza for decades.
