This sculpture is Galyan's focal point for their 80,000-ft2 sporting goods store. Fish is 40 ft (12 m) tall with the spine, rib supports and fasteners hot-dip galvanized. Accessories used on Fish are treated wood, stainless steel and glass.
Fish is entirely visible from all of Galyan's entrances and exits. Because of this high visibility, the owners needed to find a corrosion prevention system that would last for a long time, showing no unsightly rust for years. Hot-dip galvanizing was the only answer.
