The orange line is the second part of a two phase project known as the South Corridor Project. The Portland light rail is an extensive system that runs east to Gresham, west to Hillsboro, north to PDX airport and the Expo Center, and south to Milwaukie and Clackamas. The PMLR orange line project project covers 7.3 miles from downtown Portland to Milwauikie. Previous lines have all beeen galvanized for corrosion protection and sustainability. The same ornamental rails have been used throughout the entire system. Portland is known for its inclement weather patterns. The light rails heavy pedestrian traffic calls for a coating system that is durable, uniform in appearance, sustainable and maintenance free.
