Jonathan Nesci is a furniture and exhibition designer based in Columbus, IN who works with a variety of producers in the Midwest that use conventional and digital fabrication processes to execute his designs in a myriad of materials and finishes. The abrasion resistance of galvanized steel also proved beneficial in transit as the pieces traveled to Milan, Italy and Hong Kong for showings.
For his 2018 collection, Jonathan envisioned a silver, industrial finish for several reasons. He found that hot-dip galvanizing provided the aesthetic he wished for. Jonathan decided to galvanize several pieces including a bench, barstool, and chairs. He worked closely with the galvanizer to achieve the right finish on each part. The process included supervised dippings and post-dipping work. The abrasion resistance of galvanized steel also proved beneficial in transit as the pieces traveled to Milan, Italy and Hong Kong for showings.
