The 50 meter, Olympic-size outdoor swimming pool and 25 meter diving pool will be the only one of its kind in the Central United States. HDG was specified for the project because of its coating durability in the high chlorine atmosphere and abrasion resistance from spectators wear and tear. The aesthetic value of the exposed galvanized coating blended perfectly with the surrounding area. Prior HDG experience was a major design consideration since the project was funded by a unique partnership between Northside ISD and Bexar County, calling for 40 years of maintenance and operation by NISD. HDG meant no problems for future maintenance and sustainability.
