The open roof greenhouse structure manufactured for Natorps Nursery included 140,000 pounds of steel. A greenhouse environment can be very harsh on unprotected steel.

Typically greenhouse climates are high in humidity, but can change from cold to very hot rapidly. Specifying galvanizing for the structural components is the easiest way to avoid corrosion in the changing environment. The galvanized coating on the structural steel will blend in with the nursery setting and be able to withstand the climate changes with minimal maintenance costs.
