The Nashua Riverwalk is part of the Downtown Riverfront Development Master Plan, a long-term initiative to revitalize Nashua’s riverfront and connect downtown to the Nashua River through parks, boardwalks, and public spaces. This quadrant was completed in 2025 while the other portions of the project are expected to run through 2028 with a projected total cost of $19 million which is publicly funded through the Nashua Riverfront TIF (Tax Increment Financing) District.
Hot Dip Galvanizing was specified because of it's proven corrosion protection in similar New Hampshire locations.
There were several concerns that needed to be addressed including the project’s location, historical relevance and environmental considerations which warranted a full team of professional disciplines including master planning, engineering, architecture, and environmental. Key components such as ADA ramps, boardwalk segments, and the Performance Pavilion (near Bicentennial and Renaissance Parks) were completed May 2025 and included approximately 175 tons of steel of which was hot dip galvanized due to the project’s proximity to the river and the harsh New England Weather.
