Environmental friendliness and sustainability was the number one concern for the engineer of the Marine Mammal Center and New Balance Foundation at New Harbor walk in the historic Boston Harbor.
Hot-dip galvanizing was chosen to protect the canopies, railing, and fasteners that comprise this large and popular project, instead of a painted material that would have expended unnecessary energy and chemical wastes near the harbor. Located in the historic Boston Harbor, this attraction is bound to draw crowds, thanks to the aesthetically appealing and environmentally friendly nature of hot-dip galvanized steel.
