Founded in 1928 in Waltham, MA, Jordans Furniture started out selling furniture out of the back of a truck and has grown from this humble beginning to a quarter-billion dollar operation with seven stores and boasting the highest furniture sales per square foot than anyone in the country!
In 1999, the Company was purchased by Berkshire Hathaway, but the founding family remained at the helm. Now in the third generation of family management, Jordans success is due to many factors: astute purchasing, great two-way loyalty between management and employees, and outstanding marketing programs including sports promotions and the incorporation of "shoppertainment' within the stores.
In December 2015, Jordans opened its seventh store. To promote the new facility and create a landmark for shoppers, a spectacular sign, which includes the companys fuchsia logo and is built on a backdrop of 300 white chairs, was designed. Fabricated out of tubular steel, a duplex system was specified to provide the looks and longevity of this future landmark. The hot-dip galvanizing will provide the long-term corrosion protection while the paint system will address the aesthetic requirements.
