This residence in Kearney, Nebraska, boasts an interesting look with artistic railing that adds a pleasant visual effect lining stairways and wrap-around porch surrounding the home. The visual appearance was very important with the project.
Jack Lederman Co. was surprised with the outcome of the coating performance.
Originally, the owner tried to protect the railing system with paint, but noticed the material rusted prematurely. To combat the rust problem, the owner and fabricator decided to use hot-dip galvanizing to protect the railing against corrosion. With no previous hot-dip galvanizing experience, Jack Lederman Co. was surprised with the outcome of the coating performance.
After galvanizing the six tons of steel, the railing was repainted, and he found the paint adhered very well to the zinc coating. Of Visual appeal was important to the owner, and with the methods of venting the steel during submersion, the coating displayed a smooth surface texture for successful painting. By choosing to hot-dip galvanized steel, the owner will enjoy years of maintenance and rust free protection that will ensure that the home will remain visually attractive for generations.
