CloseOver many decades hot-dip galvanizing has proven to be the best corrosion protection system for outdoor speedway bleacher systems. Nearly every existing speedway has been retrofitted with a galvanized steel barrier Saferwall to protect the drivers from devastating crashes against the concrete walls of the speedways.
Iowa is the first all steel speedway, utilizing no concrete backup to the galvanized steel. All bleacher structures except the aluminum seat panels, all debris fence and support posts and all Saferwall components were galvanized. Although, competitive, HDG was chosen for its maintenance-free service life. Also, galvanizing is not weather dependent, so the critical construction schedule could be met. For over 50 years, HDG has provided unmatched corrosion protection for speedway bleachers.
