During a visit with the Marnell Las Vegas office, the design team was exploring options for both the screen wall design and the HVAC chiller unit structure, attached to the Casino. They were concerned about the likelihood of corrosion of the exposed structural steel, especially in a harsh Midwest climate.
They wanted a product that would last for a lifetime, and require no maintenance. They made it clear that downtime for maintenance, including having to repaint or touch up structural steel is not tolerated in the Casino industry. In the high revenue nature of the Casino business, interruptions can end up costing its owner hundreds of thousands of dollars. Catering to their guests is the top priority.
