Local farmers and farming communities are arguably the backbone of the American spirit. Their work ethic doesn’t know how to quit or soften no matter the obstacles ahead of them. The grueling hours and extreme conditions harden these men and women to withstand the test of time. Any farmer wants their equipment to be just as durable. All equipment is in an investment that needs to be protected, stored, and taken care of. Whether it’s the tractors, the tools or the harvest, everything needs a place to be sheltered when not in use. The use of fabric buildings on these farms are becoming more popular due to the affordability, ease of erection, and durability. Heritage Structures in McLeansboro, IL is providing the steel structures that help these storage buildings and structures withstand any condition mother nature can throw their way. The agriculture industry is one of many markets these buildings are growing in popularity in.
The open-minded approach to design and teamwork with their partners is making Heritage Structures an example of how wonderful ingenuity and craftsmanship can elevate a company and the products it provides.
The team at Heritage Structures fabricates the steel trusses and support systems that are the bones of these fabric storage buildings. Every inch and every weld are carefully crafted and forged to be as strong as the work ethic instilled in every member of the staff. To ensure any metal coating is as durable and well-crafted as their own structure, they turned to hot-dip galvanizing. To achieve the best results in their galvanized coating, they teamed with a local galvanizer to review their design. Touring a galvanizing facility gave Heritage Structures an intimate understanding of the importance of venting, draining, steel cleanliness and how to achieve 100% coverage of their material.
While Heritage Structures had a tremendously full understanding of the hot-dip galvanizing process, there was still one hurdle to overcome. The expense of freight is so great that any truckload must be packed with as much material as allowed to make it economically advantageous. To overcome this, their team designed all their trusses and supports to be able to be bolt assembled for transit to allow for more weight and better overall material security for transit. The galvanizer can then unbolt the material, process and reassemble for transit back keeping the loads hefty, safe and cutting down the cost of freight.
The open-minded approach to design and teamwork with their partners is making Heritage Structures an example of how wonderful ingenuity and craftsmanship can elevate a company and the products it provides. They take great pride in the work that goes into ensuring these structures will be around for tomorrow, and the days after that!
