Cincinnati Center City Development Corporation (3CDC) purchased a new state-of-the-art LED video board from Cincinnati based LSI Industries. The new display will provide better viewing angles and crisper image quality similar in size that it is replacing. The new video board is full color, 52 feet wide and 23 feet high, with high-definition LED and cost $1 million dollars.
Galvanized steel was the preferred coating based on durability, corrosion performance and sustainability.
“Fountain Square” is thought of as Cincinnati’s heartbeat, main gathering place promoting regional attractions and often used to televise Cincinnati sporting events. Fifth Third Bank sponsors 3CDC’s programming on Fountain Square year-round and constructed and donated a $2 million permanent stage to host concerts, contests and more, Fifth Third Bank considers Fountain Square as our front porch. The new LED video board is Fifth Third’s connection and commitment to their hometown.
The structure consisted of one large beam at the base, with tube, angle and plates. Galvanized steel was the preferred coating based on durability, corrosion performance and sustainability. Fabricator worked closely with the galvanizer to keep up with the scheduling demands of the project. George Steel then coordinated the two week installation of the video board through Neiheisel Steel out of Cincinnati to erect the structure prior to the Cincinnati Red’s baseball Opening Day on April 1st, great teamwork throughout the project made this a big hit.
