The lights along the Columbia River stand to improve navigation for ocean-bound vessels traveling through the approximate 90-mile, newly dredged shipping channel between Astoria and Portland, Oregon. The support structures holding the lights were hot-dip galvanized to provide superior protection against the corrosive aquatic habitat of the channel. HDG provides a durable solution to ensure the structure will withstand the wind and moisture of the river channel, as well as provide a protection system that will require little to no maintenance. These galvanized structures will remain standing for many decades to safely assist boats traveling along the river.
