Duck blinds are notoriously constructed from wood and other natural products. In this unique situation, the owner wanted a strong long lasting structure to weather any storm and protect it from marine corrosion.
Hurricanes have devastated most duck blinds along coastal areas over the past couple years. In this particular case, the owner chose to make an investment in his hunting club. They decided to make the structure from steel and to protect the steel with a hot dip galvanized coating.
This project will be monitored closely for durability over the coming years. If successful they will create a new type of structure and coating application for the hunting club. The club has approximately 35-40 duck blinds on the property that might get upgraded for projects like this one in the future.
