CloseIlluminating downtown Columbus, the Channel 4 sign is supported by a galvanized structure and frame. The lighted sign is the mini Times Square of central Ohio. At night it gives light to the State Capitol building, the Theater District, and surrounding restaurants. Hot-dip galvanizing (HDG) was perfect for this project as it is able to withstand the corrosive atmosphere of Columbus. The longevity of structural integrity was also very important due to the costly electronic signage that it supports. The valuable sign contributes to the energy of the busy city below without adding to its maintenance list. With the support of HDG, the Channel 4 sign will play host to Columbus media well into the future.
