A local manufacturer who develops state-of-the-art boiler systems that save space in essence doubling capacity or halving the space requirement was in the market for a corrosion protection system for the units. The specially designed boilers not only save space, but also reduce fuel costs and emissions into the air; thus, the manufacturer preferred an equally sustainable coating. After extensive research, they decided the most durable, cost effective, and sustainable coating was hot-dip galvanizing.
After extensive research, they decided the most durable, cost-effective, and the sustainable coating was hot-dip galvanizing.
Because of the extreme heat and corrosive minerals in the boiler water, the manufacturer realized maintaining a paint system on the economizers would be both difficult and costly, as they were providing a seven year warranty on the economizers. Not only could hot-dip galvanized steel meet the seven year mark, but it would do so without any maintenance a huge cost savings for the manufacturer. And the 100% recyclability and low environmental impact of producing hot-dip galvanized steel was a bonus working hand-in-hand with the sustainable nature of the systems. Thanks to the effective and efficient hot-dip galvanized steel, the economizers will function uninterrupted throughout the warranty and beyond.
