Boston has long been recognized as a world-class sports town and each team has its own iconic identity; the Patriots have the Lighthouse at Gillette Stadium, the Red Sox have the Citgo Sign in Kenmore Square, and the Celtics have the Garden (nee Boston Garden). The Bruins were the only team without a readily identifiable presence, but that has now changed.
... hot dip galvanizing was selected to prevent this new Boston sports icon from rust.
The Boston Bruins Hockey Team had been in their previous training center for the past 25 years, and in recent years it had become apparent the team needed an upgrade. In addition to much more space in the locker room, the new Warrior Ice Arena has much more equipment for medical and physical therapy purposes, and can seat 650 spectators. The arena gets its name from the Warrior brand of hockey equipment and comes with a 79-foot high Warrior hockey stick that greets visitors at the front entrance doors.
The arena is located on the Massachusetts Turnpike in Brighton and the massive hockey stick is seen by thousands of cars coming into or leaving Boston daily. Recognizing the urban industrial location, and the extreme difficulty that would ensue with repaints, hot dip galvanizing was selected to prevent this new Boston sports icon from rust.
