The growing student population at the Villages, Florida sparked a renovation and expansion of their football facilities. Included in this expansion was the need for new grandstand seating. The School needed corrosion protection, but still wanted to show the pride of the Buffalo Green! They chose the duplex coating using powder coating over hot-dip galvanizing.
The galvanizer was consulted early on in this project to help provide the ultimate corrosion protection system for this Florida football stadium addition, in a tropical environment. The owner was looking for a durable coating system that could stand the test of time. Together with the grandstand manufacturer, the galvanizer was able to deliver the protection of hot dip galvanizing with an attractive powder coated finish in order to match the existing surrounding structures.
Logistics played a key role in the execution of this project. With the steel being fabricated in Florida, the coating sytem being in Ohio, and the destination being back in Florida, there was no room for error for the grandstand manufacturer or the galvanizer.
