Traveling the highways, you often see miles and miles of guardrail but one company, SPIG Industries has made the safety of those guardrails the upmost importance. When SPIG Industries first got into the design and fabrication of end terminals, one of the company’s founders, Josh Harmon, wanted to make sure it exceeded the current crash test specifications. They were designing their end terminals to be the industry leader that everyone would model end terminals after. Josh met with families who lost loved ones in crashes across the country to terminals that didn’t perform as advertised. He credits the company’s passion and laser focus to developing the world's safest terminal to the sorrow he witnessed firsthand speaking with these families.
They fabricated these terminals and knew they wanted to hot-dip galvanize these terminals because of the durability, low cost and sustainability that only hot-dip galvanizing can provide.
Through their determination, SPIG Industries set out and developed an end terminal that exceeded the Federal Highway’s Safety standards by 33%. They fabricated these terminals and knew they wanted to hot-dip galvanize these terminals because of the durability, low cost and sustainability that only hot-dip galvanizing can provide. All of the components to the end terminals, including the hardware, guardrail post and panels would be hot-dip galvanized for a maintenance free, long-lasting coating that local, state and federal highway departments could depend on for an extended period of time. The simple design and galvanized coating allow for a quick installation method that can be done in as little as 30 minutes.
SPIG Industries has developed an end terminal that is rivaled by its competitors for its performance standards. They continually strive to put the highest level of quality into every terminal making it the safest guardrail and terminal combination in the industry. With the galvanized coating that is provided on every component of the SPIG Gating End Terminal, they are confident these will be sustainable for many years to come.
