Fire trucks, especially in metropolitan areas, are in constant use and continually exposed to water and chemicals during fires. Fire fighters and municipalities like their equipment to have a pleasant appearance while requiring little or no maintenance.
The company decided to redesign the ladder sections to be hot-dip galvanized because it would provide superior corrosion protection with low-maintenance costs.
Recently, customers came to RK Aerials requesting improved corrosion resistance to the ladders. The company decided to redesign the ladder sections to be hot-dip galvanized, because it would provide superior corrosion protection with low-maintenance costs. The first galvanized aerial trucks were sold to Minneapolis, and several more units have been ordered by other departments. The use of hot-dip galvanizing on the ladder trucks will provide fire departments with corrosion-free, low-maintenance truck to help fight fires for many generations.
