Hot-dip galvanizing was chosen for this project for multiple reasons. The final design was decided on by the Cemetery Board and required the fencing to be fabricated out of steel. The question then became, "What coating should be used?" The Fabricator quickly jumped into the conversation and expressed his desire to coat the project with hot-dip galvanizing rather than paint due to life-cycle cost and durability.
His prior experience with HDG, the partnership he has with his current galvanizer, and the difficult projects they have worked on in the past made the choice for the group very easy. He explained how great the HDG coating will look and how long it will last before any maintenance will be needed. This was extremely important to the Cemetery Board, as funds for such maintenance are sometimes difficult to budget for.
