IGC Philippines - INEOS Project One

In the last 20 years, INEOS Project ONE has emerged as one of Europe’s most significant petrochemical investments. Located in the Port of Antwerp, the $4-billion ethane cracker will produce 1.5 million MT of ethylene annually – strengthening Europe’s chemical industry and supporting long-term economic growth while setting a new bar for sustainability. Designed to operate with a CO₂ footprint 50% lower than the next-best cracker in Europe, Project ONE creates a pathway to future zero-carbon operations through low-carbon hydrogen.

AG&P in the Philippines fabricated 6,600 MT of steel modules for the facility destined for a highly corrosive port environment where downtime is costly. Therefore, the solution needed to provide durable, sustainable, low maintenance longevity – hot-dip galvanized steel was the clear choice.

The galvanizer was selected for its large capacity, capability, and proven compliance with the strict EN ISO 1461 standards required by INEOS. Galvanizing thousands of beams, angles, channels, and plates, the team delivered consistent quality and a uniform coating worthy of a flagship facility.

Moving hundreds of fabricated components each day introduced a different kind of challenge: tracking, identification, and dispatch at speed. T To streamline this complex process, the galvanizer and AG&P implemented an integrated Quality Assurance approach, with AG&P personnel onsite to monitor and verify each component throughout the galvanizing cycle. The result was minimal delays, accurate sequencing and the highest standard of module assembly. The galvanizer was a true partner who educated the customer and consistently exceeded expectations.
