Built in the late 1800's to provide a home for a herd of dairy cows. This barn has now been transformed into a beautiful horse stable for Beautiful Friesians of Hill Country Acres.
Durability of hot-dip galvanizing will provide the longevity needed to keep the pristine condition of this barn.
When Mike and Debra Hershberger made the decision to convert their 119 year old dairy barn to a stable to house their Friesian Horses, they wanted to ensure that all 8 stalls would live up to the same beauty as their horses. Both the Hersherger's and CRA Welding wanted to guarantee that the historic barn would continue to be a staple of their community for generations to come.
The Hershberger's were certain that when the stables were built, they kept the horses in mind while keeping the historic nature of the barn. Each stable is designed for the safety and protection of each horse. The complexity of the arch design was done to establish that each horse is able to be closely monitored without entering the stall. With a 119 year old barn, both Mike and Debra, along with the fabricator, loved the idea that the zinc finish will help make the brick and wood pop out each time they walk in. Hot-Dip galvanizing was the unanimous decision to protect each stall to safeguard against any pealing or flaking as you may have with a paint which can harmful to the horses. Horses can be abrasive by rubbing against the stall fronts, while hot-dip galvanizing is proven to be abrasion resistant. When thinking of the history of the barn, the cost-effectiveness of knowing that their family is able to focus on the sheer beauty of the Friesian Horses without the worry of any additional maintenance.
The passion that the Hershberger's have for their Friesians Horses does not only translate to the quality of workmanship and sustainability of this amazing barn but it will carry on the timeless traditions with family and friends for the next 100 years.
