In recent years the trucking industry realized that corrosion was shortening the life of their products. Customers demanded longer service life. They found that hot-dip galvanizing (HDG) would withstand the harsh conditions that include road salts, snow, rain, road hazards like rocks and debris. Quality, corrosion protection on the edges, hardness of the coating and life cycle cost showed that HDG was the superior and required coating. The simplicity of specification versus the multiple paint specs was an added bonus.
