Did you ever wonder how a fish can swim upstream? They cant and in order to preserve the species, they need help. In Holyoke, Mass, like many other areas in new England and throughout the world, Fish Passages are designed and built. These help the environment to naturally allow the fish to reach an area without stress or unnatural means.
They utilize over 450 tons of galvanized steel.
The Cianbro Company of Maine has been a large part of designing and building these fish passages. They utilize over 450 tons of galvanized steel. Not only for the longevity of the corrosion protection in the water, but for the sustainability for the environment, with the coating having no ill effects on the fish.
The Galvanizer on record has been a large part of creating and supplying this work over the past decade. Once it is established that there is a waterway in need, delivery and clean fish friendly galvanized steel needs to arrive on time, in the right order, with no touch up paint, and packaged ready to install. A challenging but very rewarding project to be part of.
