Grand Lake in Grove, Oklahoma sees many tourists and visitors every year. To accentuate the beautiful surroundings of the area, Goldner Dock Construction, renowned for its expertise in marine infrastructure, embarked on a momentous project to construct a custom dock, gangway and wave attenuator. Sitting in the main channel of the lake, the dock would surely be exposed to boat traffic and strong winds day in and day out that would potentially take a toll on the structure. A strong and durable coating was required for the project to be able to withstand these rough conditions many years down the road.

To ensure the strength and longevity of the structure, a massive 22 tons of hot-dip galvanized steel was employed. The integration of galvanized steel into the structure of the project offered not only the exceptional durability that the team was looking for, but also a captivating visual aesthetic for the lake.
Emphasizing the importance of resilient construction, Goldner Dock Construction’s team strategized a customized dock to include three boat slips, four personal watercraft slips and an inviting outdoor kitchen and patio. For most, integrating these special features would be daunting, but for Goldner Dock Construction and their partnership with the galvanizer, the project was able to come to fruition seamlessly.
After considering other coatings for the structure, hot-dip galvanizing stood above the rest because of its proven corrosion protection performance. With this decision, the ancillary components would be able to withstand the formidable forces of storms and boat wakes with ease. Goldner Dock Construction has a proven track record of building state-of-the-art docks that can endure the rough weather conditions year-round, so this partnership with the galvanizer was infallible.
Not only will the project impact those on the lake, but also the neighboring areas can partake in the beauty of the dock because it will become a hub of attraction for residents and visitors alike. The structure is nearly impossible to miss as residents pass by because of it’s intriguing and modern aesthetics. The project will also continue to bring economic impact and development to the nearby restaurants, stores and businesses near the lake.
In working with the galvanizer, Goldner Dock explained that their experience was extremely positive. “The galvanizer is truly an excellent company.
