The new Gaylord Riverfront Ballroom is a $20 million addition to the Gaylord National Resort & Convention Center currently located on the Potomac River in Prince Georges County, Maryland. This is a modern and unique addition that takes advantage of the amazing views of National Harbor at the site. It also provides an aesthetic identity with the Potomac River.
With a galvanized life of 70+ years specified on the roof support columns, this project is not only aesthetically pleasing, it will also last for several generations to come.
The design of the pavilion features a mast and rigging structure that supports a curved roof. Hot-dip galvanizing was specified on these arrow columns to beautify and protect the masts against corrosion for decades to come with no required maintenance.
The 23,000-square-foot ballroom is set to open in July 2017. The new building will feature glass windows on three sides to showcase the spectacular views of the river. With a galvanized life of 70+ years specified on the roof support columns, this project is not only aesthetically pleasing, it will also last for several generations to come.
