After his military service in 1946, Bob Fuller opened his first car wash. Now with 15 locations around the Chicago suburbs, Fullers Car Wash is a respected leader in the car washing business. Fullers is known as a good neighbor with handsome facilities that fit in the neighborhood. The newest location in New Lenox, IL is next to a newer high school and in front of a wooded lot.
The village wanted a structure that blended with its surroundings and the owner wanted something with durability. The decision was made to have a duplex system of hot-dip galvanizing with brown paint. The galvanizing will provide decades of corrosion protection and the brown paint the aesthetic quality to fit in with the natural background. The use of this duplex system will increase the service life of the steel up to 2.5 times that of galvanizing or paint alone.
The canopies, columns and vacuum stations all have this system. By specifying hot-dip galvanizing and paint, the car wash will have both the long lasting corrosion protection and the look that fits this site. The reduced maintenance costs to the owner and the choice of color that paint offered both made this duplex system the right decision for this latest addition to the Fullers Car Wash family.
