The Flight 93 Memorial is our nation's newest National Memorial. The main gates and other gates throughout the 2200 acre complex will face summer heat, freezing winters and road salts.
It is expected that tens of thousands of people will visit this emotional site every year. Known for its high quality facilities, the Park Service wants to maintain a high quality, visually pleasant, low manitenance appearance for these gates and all the parts of the memorial. Galvanizing and paint were chosen for corrosion protection, durability, low maintenance and aesthetic compatibility with the surroundings.
