With a considerably short turnaround time of four weeks, the Firewheel Town Center in Garland, Texas needed to install an entrance sign and other portals around the center. The signs were needed to help direct traffic to their desired location in the mall complex. A duplex system of hot-dip galvanized steel and paint was selected because the process has a short turnaround time without sacrificing the durability of the coating.

All structural steel including columns and rolled tubular circles were hot-dip galvanized and then painted for corrosion protection. The entire project, from fabrication to installation, had to be completed in four weeks. Hot-dip galvanized steel satisfied the short turnaround requirement, and by coupling it with paint in a duplex system, the durable coating will keep the signage at the Firewheel Town Center corrosion-free for many years.
