CloseOver 600 tons (544 tonnes) of purlins, rods, heavy and light structural steel grating, pipe, and bollards were hot-dip galvanized. All steel needed to be cataloged and bar coded so that erection could go smoothly. The building was put together like an erector set, piece-by-piece. Sizes of the material and speed of erection were important. It was necessary for the galvanizer to work closely with steel workers and contractors.
