A recent addition of platforms and handrails to the Budweiser Rice Mills Plant in Woodland, California, has been a welcome one, providing easier access to certain regions of the existing facility.
The plant busily performs rice milling and malting operations for parent Anheuser Busch Company in nearby Fairfield, California. With the addition, comprised entirely of steel, BAR chose to hot-dip galvanize its surface areas to eliminate corrosion and provide a clean-look that is maintenance-free and durable. The specifier for the project chose to hot-dip galvanize the surface because of the past success HDG has in comparison to using paint to protect the steel. The importance of visual appearance and quality of HDG were big factors in the decision to dip 40 tons of steel including all handrails and platforms. The benefits of using the galvanized coating will give the addition long-lasting life for many years to come.
