Standing tall, proud and gleaming with American pride is the Armed Forces Memorial in Fort Payne, Alabama. To show their patriotism and respect for our nations forces, they created this beautiful display of all the armed forces. The beautiful, handcrafted memorial was designed and fabricated from steel plate using water jet cutting for all the special nuances of each piece. This monument is situated at the front entrance of the Nucor facility for the community and all employees to see and remember the men and women who keep our country safe. The memorial was designed in remembrance of all the heroes current and past from our nations military. There is even a special monument for the POW- MIA in remembrance of so many lost, and Minutemen statues for the National Guard. The special plaque on the front lawn appropriately reads In memory of those who gave all, In honor of all those who gave.
With this corporation being one of the largest steel producers in the world, they wanted to incorporate steel into their memorial. They also decided they wanted it to have an industrial look, and galvanizing gave the perfect strong and industrious look they had hoped to achieve. Also being familiar from past galvanizing projects, they understood they wanted this memorial to be standing for generations to come. Galvanizing provides the perfect combination of tough aesthetic look, durable coating for many years, low to no maintenance, and the superior corrosion protection needed with being exposed to the constant atmospheric elements.
