The Ajax amine plant is a facility located in rural Northern Louisiana with two 1,300 GPM treaters capable of treating up to 300 MMscfd (million standard cubic feet per day) of natural gas. Amine gas treating is a group of processes that use aqueous solutions to remove hydrogen sulfide and carbon dioxide from the gas. Amine gas treating is also known as acid gas removal or gas sweetening. Sweetening the gas makes it less harmful to human health and less corrosive to pipes and gas equipment.
Interstate Treating worked closely with the galvanizer to ensure on-time delivery of key phases of the project.
Interstate Treating/RAMA was founded in 1980 as a manufacturer of oil and gas process equipment. Since its founding, the company has continued to grow and expand, now offering package fabrication, startup assistance, contract treating, and even turnkey plant construction. The construction and completion of the Ajax amine plant in Louisiana is a testament to their capability. Interstate Treating worked closely with the galvanizer to ensure on-time delivery of key phases of the project.
Interstate Treating is no stranger to galvanized steel. Working in the gas treatment industry, galvanized steel is a common specification due to the corrosive nature of the chemicals and processes involved. It was selected for this project due to the superior resistance to corrosion and long-lasting nature of the coating, providing years of maintenance free corrosion protection.
