The 300 South Tryon building is a $300 million mixed-use project in Charlotte, North Carolina which broke ground on December 15th of 2014. It will offer 630,000 square feet of office space as well as an 18-story hotel. This building is located where new projects and investments have continued to thrive in downtown Charlotte. 

The building's roof structure that houses the mechanical and HVAC systems was specified as a duplex system for the longevity of its service life by using both a galvanized coating and the specified macropoxy white paint system over top.  With over 100+ years of combined service life, the roof structure duplex coating will have the best protection to prevent any corrosion or concerns for future corrosion over many years to come.

When duplex system is specified, there is a synergistic effect among both the galvanizing and paint system coating. The corrosion protection will wind up being 1.5 to 2.3 times the sum of the expected life of each coating system. In this specific case of 300 South Tryon we could easily expect the life expectancy to be well over 100 to 150 years on this roof structure.

This project was design to be a futuristic building among the current Charlotte skyline.  With the duplex coating that was specified on the roof structure, it will certainly last a long time into the distant future.
