Ottawa Airport Parking Expansion
All structural steel, joists, bracing, and deck for the Ottawa Airport Parking Expansion remains exposed to view and exists in a corrosive environment. The entire structure was hot-dip galvanized to ensure long service life, low maintenance cost, and long-term attractive appearance.
The original design of the Ottawa Macdonald-Cartier International Airport Parkade was designed for flexibility to respond to future growth in the National Capital Region. After its expansion in 2004, the Ottawa International Airport has expanded its Parkade facility once again to meet high levels of customer demand.
This time the project added approximately 850 spaces at the north end, and features a new wayfinding system, enhanced signage, an alternate ramp system, a new entrance plaza and a roof over the entire Parkade. The overall design includes a future expansion option that will add approximately 750 more spaces at the south end when demand calls for it.
The Ottawa International Airport being the gateway to Canada's fastest growing local economy now is better able to serve the needs of air travelers.
