Cliffwalk at the Capilano Suspension Bridge

Cliffwalks' cliffside location makes it difficult for repairs to a painted structure that hangs 90 meters above the capilano river below it. Furthermore, the Cliffwalk is located only a few miles from the Pacific coastline that surrounds Vancouver, making corrosion protection key.  Galvanizing was chosen as a long-term maintenence-free coating.

Cliffwalk was designed to serve as a medium for the interactive educational displays developed with the David Suzuki Foundation. Cliffwalk hangs 90 meters above Capilano river below. All visitors to the park can see the galvanizing from nearly all corners of the park and from the structure itself. An important driver of the project was the aesthetics, which was described as light and airy.
